I went on a short hike recently in Algonquin Park and encountered a few squirrels who made me giggle. I had brought peanuts on the hike with me and lost one while walking around the High Falls area. It was inevitable that a little rodent would find the feast. It’s something I try to be careful about because under any circumstance should you feed wild animals but once in a while, a peanut rolls off and it can never be found. This little dude found the peanut and enjoyed it.
Although my friend’s flowers are no longer in their prime for photographs, her garden is still filled with tons of bird feeders which attracts a lot of, you guessed it, birds. I visited her this Thanksgiving weekend to bring her some pumpkin spice and truffle/pumpkin pies and since it was a warm and sunny afternoon, her garden was busy with little visitors. The 2 main birds, were the chickadee and the nuthatch but by the end of the day, the Blue Jay came out for a bit of dinner action. It was entertaining to watch to say the least. Since they are quite small and fast and I don’t have much experience with photographing moving things (Failed that part of my photography courses 10 years ago), it was rather challenging for me to get a good shot. I first tried with my tripod and remote then gave up and chased the birds on a sports setting instead.
